The Management Teams thoughts after the Black and Ambers 3-1 win at West Auckland last Saturday……..

‘Saturday at West Auckland was another great result – taking us to 6 wins out of the last 8 games, including two local away Derbies and a memorable trip to Carlisle, which is always nice for the travelling Black and Amber Army.

After getting off to a good start against West Auckland it was disappointing to go a goal behind, albeit to a really good shot from their number 11. After that we felt that we never really got out of first gear in the first half but Connor Brown’s goal from the edge of the box got us in level at half time. Saturday was Connor’s best game so far in a Crook shirt and showed what he brings to the team – no surprise to see him pick up both the Supporters Club and Committee Man of the Match Awards.

We made some tactical changes at half time, brought Archie Leonard on and he changed the game, his pace and positivity caused West Auckland problems down their left hand side and his two assists contributed to the win setting up goals from Reece and Zack. Delighted to see Reece Havelock Brown get his first goal for the club!

Overall it was a really enjoyable game with a great derby atmosphere provided by the Crook Town supporters backing the lads, both sides working hard and playing some entertaining football.

Looking ahead to the Redcar game – they’ve also turned their season around after a sticky start, recruited some good players to strengthen their squad and could finish as high as 6th if results go their way in their last two games (and no lower than 9th).

That said we’re determined to try and keep our current form going to the end of the season and are aiming for 6 points from our last two games – starting tonight to give the tremendous support at the Millfield a great end to the season!

Thanks for your backing – Up The Crook!’
